Jasmine rises to the top of the decorating ladder

We could see that Jasmine had a real knack for painting & decorating and it was no surprise when at the end of the course Jasmine asked for help in finding further training or an apprenticeship in painting.

Jasmine, a young single mother, first attended Flower Skills on a Royal Borough of Greenwich Adult Community Learning course in plastering and painting.

We could see that Jasmine had a real knack for painting & decorating and it was no surprise when at the end of the course Jasmine asked for help in finding further training or an apprenticeship in painting.

Shortly after this, we were approached by a company looking to source apprentices in a number of trades. We recommended Jasmine and were as delighted as she was when she was offered an apprenticeship. However, her employer struggled with losing work contracts and as a result all thier staff suffered. The promised funding for Jasmine's placement also failed to materialise, and it looked as though Jasmine's career would stall almost as soon as it started.

For some months Flower Skills continued to support and train Jasmine while tackling these problems and thanks to her hard work and our persistence we found an employer for her. Jasmine worked at many high profile sites including Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace and a number of museums across the capital. She developed new skills including wokring in gold leaf and renovating old decoration.

Jasmine completed her apprenticeship and has since been prmoted to Supervisor and she is now responsible for a team of over 20 workers.
