Student policies
We are supported by a comprehensive range of policies and procedures.
Safeguarding Policy 2025 (pdf 191KB)
We recognise our responsibilities for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. We have a detailed policy applying to all staff working in the organisation, including permanent and temporary staff and volunteers. Comprehensive procedures support this policy.
Anti-radicalisation Policy 2025 (pdf 469KB)
Flower Skills is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its students. As a training provider we recognise that safeguarding against radicalisation is no different from safeguarding against any other vulnerability. At Flower Skills, all staff are expected to uphold and promote the fundamental principles of British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
Anti-bullying Policy 25 (pdf 307KB)
The centre acknowledges that bullying occurs throughout society and that colleges and training organisations are no exception. At Flower Skills we aim to create an atmosphere of care and consideration for others, where personal freedom is protected and telling is seen as a responsible behaviour. Allegations of bullying will be taken very seriously indeed and will be investigated as a matter of urgency.
Health & Safety Statement 2025 (pdf 252KB)
Overall responsibility for Health and Safety sits with Mark Ager as the Managing Director. Day to day responsibility is delegated to Jason Bodimeade, General Manager.
Equal Opportunities Policy 2025 (pdf 231KB)
Flower Skills is committed to equal opportunities to all by giving everyone the opportunity to access training and employment for every individual’s personal development. We are determined to prevent discrimination or other unfair treatment against staff and learners. Our intention is also to treat all staff and learners solely on the basis of their merits, abilities and potential, regardless of gender (including gender reassignment), race, colour, ethnic or national origin, age, socio-economic background, disability, religious or political beliefs, family circumstances (including marital / civil partnership status), sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependents (including pregnancy), offending background or other irrelevant distinction. We encourage all organisations and individuals we have dealings with, wherever possible, to promote equal opportunities and non-discriminatory practices.
Attendance Policy 2025 (pdf 448KB)
Flower Skills is committed to regular attendance of its students. Every day lost can have a serious impact on a student’s attainment and overall progress. Regular and punctual attendance is essential in order to maximise students’ chances of success.
